The Melee is gloriously excessive in all the right ways. The joystick control is the star here: it lets you blend between distorted grit and reverb wash in real-time, which opens up all sorts of expressive possibilities. It's perfect for that My Bloody Valentine wall-of-sound thing, but it's also capable of more restrained doom and sludge textures.
